![]() So I'm betting it has something to do with steam. The only thing unusual that happened was a (kinda big) windows update that rolled over here.I think I’ve seen Windows update blamed for a death of puppy once, so nothing new here. I used to separate new to my household prebuild PCs until proven for some time then nowadays I just nuke manufacture’s installs, check insides, run hardware tests, install things I need by myself and only then join my network – way faster and more reliable. Oh boy, what sort of problems I didn’t see with brand new PCs there (slice of pizza inside of PC, that was fully boxed, sealed, wrapped and ready for shipping is my favourite - t'was Sunday's overtime shift, with free pizza thrown) – and they didn’t even have 100% QA checking policy. Many years ago I worked as a QA officer for one of the world’s major PC brands. I also don't think it's anything hardware related since this is a pretty new laptop.I don’t know why people think new = trusted. Solution: make sure Nioh's Savedata subfolder is where it suppose to be (see above for correct path)ĥ. I'd say this is unlikely, but worth checking anyways.Ĥ. time / date out of sync combined with Steam cloud saves enabled for Nioh results in random overwrite of your saves. ![]() Solution: run elevated chkdsk /f /b or replace faulty HDDģ. Solution: a) manually save on region map before next mission ('Y 'on region map for Xbox controller) or visit shrine / blacksmith - this will also save game b) backup your saves regularly - location: %userprofile%\Documents\KoeiTecmo\NIOH\Savedata - copy this subfolder and its contents to your desktop (for example) regularly.Ģ. game crashes to desktop on next mission start, once the game re-started, progress is lost or save file is empty / corrupted and not recognized.
